My clients are normal people that have experienced something catastrophic, just an average American of any age.  They are not happy because of their situation and seem to appear that way, almost never smiling.  Most of them have families that they are taking care of, some of them are blood and some of them are adopted.  The adopted family can even be someone they took in after the event that occurred because they didn’t have anywhere else to go.  These clients are from every political party, they aren’t divided when a natural disaster occurs because it affects everyone.
After experiencing a natural disaster, Hurricane Michael, I feel like I have SO much in common with my clients.  The reason for starting my business venture is a direct result from my personal experiences and the need that was recognized.  The direct correlation is not a coincidence in this situation, it came from personal experience!

  1. Hi Shannon,
I can definitely relate, as my clients are regular people too that fit in a niche market. I also feel like I can relate a lot to my clients, as I would consider the demographic that I fit into the demographic that i am trying to sell to. I feel that the best market that we can market to is a market that we fit into ourselves, because we understand our own needs. This translates into us understanding the needs of others like us, and more adequately catering to their needs. Well done!

  2. Hi Shannon, I enjoyed reading your post. I really liked the way you explained the characteristics that distinguish your prototypical customer. I think that having things in common with your prototypical customer can always give one a huge advantage in their business. It helps the entrepreneur to put themself in place of the customer and think like them regarding what they want from the product / service.
