Idea Napkin No. 2

1) You. I am a seasoned business professional with experience dating back to 1998.  I have experience in many industries:  Banking, Finance, and Insurance.  I experienced Hurricane Michael in 2018 and it made a profound impact on my life.  It allowed me to realize the amount of work necessary for a homeowner with a Hurricane disaster claims to be paid fairly.  This business would allow me to use my expertise and connections throughout the business community to help people.  I am a survivor as well and want to lend a hand to my fellow survivors in need.
2) What are you offering to customers?  I would like to open Parker Claims Management to allow clients access to a full team of experts:  agents, adjusters, contractors, engineers, and attorneys.  We would work with clients to maximize their insurance claim by helping them navigate the entire process.  Our company makes use of Aristotle's Concept of Ethos, our character speaks.
3) Who are you offering it to? Insured clients that have been affected by a natural disaster that have not been successful in navigating the claims process with their insurance carriers.
4) Why do they care?  Clients that utilize a company to help navigate the claim process often receive upwards of a 50% increase in the claim amount vs. trying to navigate the process on their own.  Insurance companies want clients to feel bogged down during the process so they will “give up” and accept the smaller settlement amount.  When going through the process on their own clients typically reach a point where they don’t know what comes next or who to ask for help.
5) What are your core competencies?  My personal experience with the insurance claim process after suffering a devastating natural disaster has allowed me to connect with others throughout the community, they can also serve others.  All claims management team members have to obtain their industry’s respective license to allow them to offer their expertise.
I believe that all of the elements listed above fit well together.  The team allows clients to receive help with any aspect of their claim process with the reassurance that there is someone on “their side”.  I believe my concept fits very well with the demographic of my area as well as throughout the Southeast/Eastern Seaboard where disasters typically occur
Feedback Memo:
I added the reference to Aristotle's Concept of Ethos to allow my/the company's character to stand out.

In the section titled "You" I added the verbiage that I am a survivor who wants to help my fellow survivors in need.

  1. Hi Shannon,
I love that your business will help so many people who have been devastatingly affected by a natural disaster. I haven't personally experienced any devastation, but I know that it puts those who have experienced it in an extremely stressful situation. Your business would help them tremendously as you would alleviate some of that stress and put them on the right path to claim their insurance well. Great post!
