Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Business:  Parker Claims Management

Concept:  Formulate a team of professionals to assist clients in navigating the insurance claims process after a natural disaster

Segment:  Residents of an area affected by a natural disaster that have damage that necessitates an insurance claim and have been unsuccessful in negotiating with their insurer

Individuals typically experience a sense of defeat when they are navigating the process of an insurance claim resulting from a natural disaster.  The 1st avenue that nearly every person tries is to ask a friend of family member however each situation is different so sometimes they can receive advice that doesn’t necessarily apply to their unique situation.  They next step taken is usually an internet Google search of key words of “insurance is not paying” or “do I need a public adjuster?”  When they don’t receive the answers they need they typically turn to the news outlets that recommend they reach out the State’s Insurance Commissioner.

The targeted segment realize very early during the claim process that they need the help of a professional.  Their information search typically does not provide them the result that they are looking for and they search further for the professional help.

  1. Hi Shannon,
I really enjoyed reading about your figuring out buyer behavior No. 1 post. I thought your business seemed like a great idea, especially in Florida because natural disasters are very prevalent here. With that being said picking a business segment that included residents that have been affected by natural disasters seems like a good idea because they are directly in need of your business concept.

  2. Hi Shannon,
I definitely believe there is a market for a liaison like this between people who have suffered from a natural disaster and the government, especially since people's daily lives keep moving and people wouldn't want their lives put on hold while waiting for an insurance claim. Also, after a natural disaster, sites that do help people that have suffered from a natural disaster likely receive a lot of traffic from that area, and anyone that can help with this sort of thing is likely busy. I think you have a great service here.
